Jane Jacobs Walk – Near Southside Stroll

May 4, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join neighbors, creative thinkers and city lovers for a walking conversation that celebrates the legacy of Jane Jacobs and passes through several neighborhoods in the area just south of and include part of Downtown Indianapolis. The near southside is enjoying much success in some areas and is ripe for continued improvement in others. We’ll look at what’s working (The Cultural Trail and Pleasant Run Trail are examples we’ll visit) and ways the area could be more walkable, accessible for pedestrians, and improved in other important ways. Walkers will have two options (both start at Garfield Park Conservatory) for semi-guided walks. One is 3 miles and the other is 6 miles. Both are on flat ground and will include breaks. We recommend bringing water, a pen or pencil for occasional notes. Please wear comfortable shoes.
Route 1 – http://goo.gl/maps/H4wzn
Route 2 (longer; will go through Fletcher Place) – http://goo.gl/maps/YR06d

Participation is FREE; please DO NOT RSVP on this site, but rather register here:http://janejacobsindy.eventbrite.com
